Makassar, 4 October 2025 – The Makassar Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar) held an Employee Performance Management Socialisation event at Balairung I Wayan Bendhi on Saturday (4/10). The event aimed to enhance employees’ understanding, particularly lecturers and administrative staff, of the implementation of the Minister of Tourism’s Decision No. 59 of 2025 on the Implementation of Employee Performance Management for Civil Servants within the Ministry of Tourism.

The event was officially opened by the Director of Poltekpar Makassar, Herry Rachmat Widjaja, who in his speech emphasised the importance of synergy and readiness of all employees in facing the BKN E-Kinerja application-based performance appraisal system. “This performance management is the basis for determining the predicate and career development of ASN. In addition, lecturers must begin to prepare collaborative and adaptive learning to meet the demands of the times,” he said.

Herry also touched on a strategic issue currently facing Poltekpar Makassar, namely the potential reduction in teaching staff in the next 4–5 years as several lecturers, particularly in the Food Service Management Study Programme, will be entering retirement. He emphasised that anticipatory measures will continue to be taken to maintain the quality of learning.

This socialisation event featured a guest speaker from the Ministry of Tourism’s Human Resources and Organisation Bureau, Antonio Wasono Imam Prakoso, who presented on “Employee Performance Management in the E-Kinerja Application Based on Kepmenpar 59/2025”. He explained that this new system emphasises the assessment of civil servants’ work performance and behaviour through a performance rating distribution pattern.

In his presentation, Antonio emphasised that only around 30 per cent of employees could obtain an Excellent rating in accordance with the provisions of Minister of Tourism Decree 59/2025, and that this assessment would take into account actual performance and work behaviour based on BerAKHLAK values. “Performance ratings are not given to everyone, but to those who truly demonstrate work results and work behaviour that exceed expectations,” he explained.

In addition, the e-Kinerja system also requires all employees to implement the Work Unit Performance Index (IKSK) as the basis for measuring organisational achievements. Employees who do not implement performance management within the specified period will receive a Very Poor rating, which will affect the provision of performance allowances. Through this socialisation activity, it is hoped that all employees will gain a better understanding of the procedures for preparing Employee Performance Targets (SKP), conducting monthly performance monitoring, and implementing performance development mechanisms in accordance with national standards.

With this socialisation, Poltekpar Makassar is committed to strengthening a professional, accountable, and results-oriented performance culture, in line with the ASN BerAKHLAK values promoted by the Ministry of Tourism.
