Makassar, 2 October 2025 – The Makassar Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar) held a Mixology Workshop as part of the 2025 French Gastronomy Week series. This event was made possible thanks to collaboration with the Institut Français, and featured representatives from Monin as the main speakers.
At the workshop, Mr Miza J.D (representative of Monin) shared his knowledge and skills in the art of mixology. One of the highlights was the Masterclass Mixology with Miza J.D, where participants were invited to practise making drinks using Monin syrup. The atmosphere became even more exciting as students had the opportunity to try their own beverage creations under the direct guidance of the speaker. 🍹✨
The workshop participants consisted of students from the Hotel Management and Catering Study Programme, who enthusiastically participated in each interactive learning session. Through this activity, students not only gained new insights into French gastronomy, but also gained hands-on experience that enriched their skills in the culinary arts and hotel services.
The Director of Poltekpar Makassar, Dr Herry Rachmat Widajaja, expressed his appreciation for the organisation of this event. “This workshop is a valuable opportunity for students to learn directly from international practitioners. The collaboration with the Institut Français and Monin is clear evidence that Poltekpar Makassar remains committed to providing world-class education in order to produce tourism professionals who are excellent and globally competitive,” he said.
French Gastronomy Week itself is an annual international event held to promote the richness of French cuisine and foster cultural and educational collaboration across countries. Through this workshop, it is hoped that students at Poltekpar Makassar will be further inspired to continue developing their creativity, innovation, and professionalism in the tourism and hospitality industry.
