Makassar, 26 September 2025 — Hyatt Place Makassar Hotel conducted a Campus Visit programme to the Makassar Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar) as part of the company’s initiative to introduce the world of the hospitality industry to students. This activity is a form of Hyatt’s commitment to broadening the horizons of the younger generation regarding career opportunities, international standards, and the work culture applied in global hotel chains.
The event, which took place in the Soesilo Soedarman Auditorium, 9th Floor, Poltekpar Makassar, was attended by third-semester students of the D4 Hotel Management Study Programme (PPH). For the students, this opportunity was invaluable as preparation before they undergo On the Job Training (OJT) in the even semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
The event was officially opened by the Deputy Director I for Academic Affairs at Poltekpar Makassar, Muhammad Arfin Muhammad Salim, Ph.D., together with the Head of the D4 PPH Study Programme, Muhammad Anas, SE., MM. In his speech, the academic representative welcomed this programme as it could strengthen the synergy between industry and education, while also preparing students to face the realities of work in the hospitality sector.
During the event, Hyatt Place Makassar management, consisting of the General Manager, HR Manager, and F&B Manager, delivered presentations in person. They introduced the Hyatt brand portfolio and its presence in Indonesia, explained the World of Care philosophy that underpins its sustainability (ESG) initiatives, and shared real-life experiences about career paths in the international hospitality industry. Students also received information about opportunities to join the management trainee programme and internship opportunities within the Hyatt Indonesia Hotels network.
The atmosphere became increasingly interactive through discussion and question-and-answer sessions that provided students with the opportunity to learn more about the experiences of hotel practitioners. Towards the end of the event, students were invited to participate in an interactive quiz based on the Kahoot platform, which was lively and enthusiastic. The event concluded with a group photo that symbolised the positive synergy between academia and industry.
Through this Campus Visit, Hyatt Place Makassar hopes to inspire Poltekpar Makassar students to be better prepared for careers in the hospitality industry. The presence of this programme is also a tangible manifestation of Hyatt’s commitment to supporting human resource development in the tourism and hospitality sector, both nationally and globally.
