The Student Senate of Makassar Tourism Polytechnic Collaborated with Dharma Wanita and the Institution’s Management to Provide Social Assistance to Communities Affected by Disasters

Makassar — 29th January 2021. The Student Senate of Makassar Tourism Polytechnic alongside Dharma Wanita, the Management of Makassar Tourism Polytechnic, the Student Senate of STP NHI Bandung, and the Student Senate of Medan Tourism Polytechnic donated basic necessities and cash to help those affected by the earthquake in the West Sulawesi Province.
The donations were collected from the Management of Makassar Tourism Polytechnic, the Student Senate of STP NHI Bandung, and the Student Senate of Medan Tourism Polytechnic, and were symbolically handed over by Dr. Ali Muhtasom, S.Sos, MM to Mega, the chairperson of the Student Senate of Makassar Tourism Polytechnic Additionally, the donation from the Dharma Wanita was directly handed over by Dra. HJ Gusni Arifin, MM.
Next, the Management of the Tourism Polytechnic was represented by Mr Muh Arif, S.ST. Par., M.Pd as the Head of the Student Affairs Subdivision, accompanied by Mega as the Chair of the Makassar Tourism Polytechnic Student Senate, representing the STP NHI Bandung Student Senate, the Makassar Tourism Polytechnic Student Senate, and Dharma Wanita, handed over the aid to the Head of Tourism Office.
SEMA CARE itself is one of the social work programmes of the Student Senate of the Makassar Tourism Polytechnic, which distributes cash donations to students and communities affected by disasters, as well as providing assistance through SEMA CLASS, where the Makassar Tourism Polytechnic will directly open learning and play classes for children in evacuation centres as a form of trauma healing. The assistance is hoped to help alleviate the burden of our brothers and sisters in Majene and Mamuju, West Sulawesi Province.
