Makassar, 31st August 2025 – Makassar Tourism Polytechnic is once again holding its 2025 Job Fair, entitled ‘Connect & Step In.’ This interactive job fair will take place on 29–30 August at Balairung I Wayan Bendhi and is open to the public free of charge. The Job Fair is designed to accelerate labour absorption and open up thousands of career opportunities for job seekers.
The Job Fair and Graduation Ceremony were officially opened by the Director of Makassar Tourism Polytechnic, Dr. Herry Rachmat Widjaja, accompanied by representatives from the Manpower Office and the Head of Job Training. In his speech, the Director expressed his appreciation, saying, ‘We would like to thank all job providers, accelerators, and MSMEs who have supported this event.’
This event is an annual routine programme of the Special Job Exchange Unit (BKK) of Makassar Tourism Polytechnic. The 2025 Job Fair was also held in conjunction with the graduation ceremony for students who had completed their studies for the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.
Furthermore, Dr Herry Rachmat Widjaja explained the strategic objective of this event, ‘The Graduation Ceremony and Job Fair were deliberately held in one series to facilitate recent graduates in finding immediate employment.’ He added his expectations for his unit, “We hope that the Special Job Fair (BKK) can become a bridge that not only distributes jobs but also provides job training. The current job market demands professionalism, communication skills, and teamwork. Therefore, make the most of this opportunity. Show that you are capable and ready to compete in the job market.”
This Job Fair features dozens of companies from various sectors, including hospitality, culinary, aviation, international cruise ships, and the creative industry. To provide a different experience, this event organises a series of Career Talks, Sharing Sessions, Networking Zones, and Career Consultation Booths that help participants prepare effective CVs and job interview strategies.
The 2025 Job Fair not only serves as a walk-in interview space but also as a strategic platform to strengthen the synergy between vocational education and the industrial world. With the presence of national and international companies, this event is believed to be a new gateway for young talents from Eastern Indonesia to confidently step into the competitive professional workplace.
